I watched the AWA dvd.... which I liked, and then it got crazy with Verne Gagne just being bitter about life and everyone trashing how he ran the AWA into the ground. Awesome.

I also like how all the matches were clipped to be 10 minutes or shorter, with promos... then the last three, which are the best, are in full time. Good selection of matches.

CZW: When 2 Worlds Collide

So this is the show that was the night-cap for the ROH/CZW double header.

`This is the first CZW show I have seen in forever, so it's new to me how they do the post-show promos on the next DVD. It kinda makes you want to go back and see what you missed. Kevin Steen with a real sweet promo about how he hates CZW. Then the cameraman's cell goes off, and Steen goes crazy. Also some interesting Kingston promos
`Sonjay Dutt, B-Boy & Adam Flash vs. Messiah, Sexxxy Eddy & Nate Webb -- not bad for an opening match. Eddy is terrible though
`Hallowicked vs. Andy Sumner vs. Jigsaw vs. Larry Sweeney -- way too short. I fear that is how CZW did Chikara in these days.
`Justice Pain vs. El Generico -- Justice Pain was terrible in 2002, and I see things haven't changed.
`Nick Gage vs. Danny Havoc vs. DJ Hyde -- FFWD.
`Super Dragon vs. Kevin Steen -- Steen is the man. He cuts a promo about how he respects SD for sticking up for CZW, and then he begs ROH to take him back.
`Ladder Match - Sabian vs. Heretic vs. Cheech vs. Cloudy vs. Niles Young vs. Derek Frazier -- not bad, but it's super spotty, go figure.
`Ruckus, Eddie Kingston & Necro Butcher vs. Matt Sydal, Roderick Strong & Austin Aries -- Pretty much all ROH, in a decent match.

It's funny to see how all the CZW guys stick up for the company against ROH, yet right now you have Jigsaw, Hallowicked, Steen, Generico, Ruckus, and Sweeney (and maybe Kingston) all in ROH. It's also comical how it's wrestling... but the commentators admit ROH is better at wrestling, but they are better at fighting and at having more heart. Whatever. Also notice that people like Hero and Dutt came after Danielson... yet no one from ROH went after Ruckus's title. Pathetic. It's apparant from the start where the whole CZW/ROH feud is going. CZW really got the shit end of that deal. Oh well.

Overall, I thought it was worth the watch because it's part of the feud, and I wanted to see what they did after the ROH show went off the dvd. I also really like some of the undercard guys, so CZW serves that purpose.

ROH: Best in the World

Blah blah...
`Good Pure title match between Claudio and Nigel that ended their feud.
`Briscoes vs Strong/Evans was the best Briscoes match of their return to ROH to this point.
`Danielson/Joe vs Kenta/Marufuji was very good. Maybe a tad long, but insanely good. They did a nice job of showing Joe and Kenta hating each other, which leads to a three-way on a later show I believe.

Undercard could have been better, but three very solid matches makes this a buyer.

ROH: Dragon Gate Challenge

`Homicide vs Cabana is short.
`Reyes vs Collyer. Blah.
`Whitmer vs Jacobs... awesome. I still think it's cool how long the Jimmy Jacobs angle went for, and where it's still going. And of course, them almost dying was a highlight.
`Saito vs Yang... not bad.
`Danielson/Delirious vs Shelley/Rave... not nearly as good as it should have been.
`Claudio vs Hagadorn, again very short. Leads into CZW angle, etc etc..
`Styles/Sydal vs Dragon Kid/Horiguchi isn't bad, but is also kinda short.
`Blood Gen vs GenNext is as good as I remember it being live, minus Evans' multi-botched spots. Christ do I hate Evans.
`Joe vs Daniels... I don't get why this headlined, but whatever. Good match, but after they showed a 5 minute deal on the history of their feud, this just seemed like a replay of that. Whatever.

I'm excited to watch the next two Chicago shows. Hey now.

Chikara King Of Trios Night 3

Standout matches would be,
Matt Sydal vs. Hallowicked
The tag gauntlet
Ricochet vs. Claudio and
Quack/Jigsaw/Shane Storm vs. Kudo/Yago/Miyawaki along with a few other matches.

Very very solid show, definitely worth the money. Highly recommended.

I just finished ROH: Supercard of Honor. In short:

`I thought the Do Fixer vs Blood Gen was good, but not 5 star, best match ever good.
`Bryan Danielson vs Roddy Strong was awesome. Great trilogy of matches they had.
`Aries/Evans vs Sydal/Styles was also very good. This is a good era for tag teams in ROH.
`Steel/Collyer wasn't at all good, although Ace's intro music is super cool.

I dl'd Driven, but Im making myself not watch all of it so I can buy it.

Steen/Generico vs. Briscoes is pretty much what you would expect with these guys. Great match, didnt seem to lag, really smooth. The spots into the crowd were great even though completely unnecessarily dangerous.

Also the Sweet & Sour Inc. promo was pretty good too..

Driven needs to get ordered ASAP.

I just watched Better Than Our Best... best show of that triple shot by far, top to bottom. Not really a bad match at all.

`6 way with Ace, Jacobs, Evans, Irish Airborne, and Matt Sydal really came through
`Delirious picks Reyes as an opponent and saves his ROH job
`6 man with Do Fixer vs the Embassy and Yoshino is really well done. I love Rave and Shelley as a team
`4 way with Yang, Joe, Sytles and Daniels. You really can't beat that. I really enjoyed AJ in this one, even though he was taking all of the punishment
`Roddy/Aries vs Blood Gen was awesome. Aries gets his nose busted open, so I think that's 3 broken noses in this triple shot.
`Danielson vs Lance Storm.... actually, this could be the worst match of the night, so that shows how good I thought the card was. It's still real good, but not what I wished it was. Probably the "least good" match of his title reign to this point. And it's not that Storm doesn't have it anymore, because he looked good.... it just didn't work for me.
`Homicide vs Cabana i na street fight started slow, and the cliche "throw the chairs into the ring" spot kills me... but it turned around very quickly, and I enjoyed it. Homicide really is the man.

I'm killing ROH dvds lately. I'm about to run out of what I have

ROH: The 100th Show

`Daniels vs Claudio is long and good for an opening match. Daniels shakes hands for the first time in ROH
`Delirious beat the three Jimmys (Rave, Yang and Jacobs) in a 4 way to get his second victory in a row. Lacey said she'd strip if Jacobs won, and he had the match won... but he didn't make the pin so no one else could see her. Gold. Also good commentary about "making the run in to help Jacobs" rhetoric. Yang gets a bloody nose, making 4 busted noses in 4 shows.
`Aries/Strong defend againsy Homicide/Reyes. Rick Noon is horrible, but Cide is very good in this match. I really enjoy him in non-brawls.
`Danielson beats Cabana in 4 minutes, which leads to Danielson beating Delirious and bloodying him up. Also some classic anti-CZW promos here.
`The Briscoes beat Sydal/Styles in a good match, probably the best so far of their return. You can see them getting better, and getting to where they are now.
`Cornette vs Zandig in a debate was a clusterfuck.
`Joe/Pearce/Whitmer vs Hero/Necro/Super Dragon was all brawl. I'm not a fan of these tyle of matches, where none of it is in the ring... Whitmer takes a sick Psycho Driver through a table, Pearce has a HUGE gash on his head, Claudio turns on ROH.

Not as good as the last show, but still top to bottom pretty decent.

IWA:MS Point Proven:
All over decent card. Standout matches would probably be
Human Tornado vs. Matt Sydal (2/3 falls)
Hotstuff Hernandez vs. Drake Younger
Chuck Taylor vs. Josh Abercrombie (while not a great match, Im a Chucky T fan so, yeah)

Homicide & Low Ki vs. Necro Butcher & Toby Klein was pretty much a giant brawl, a few big spots, just barely missed the list.
The 8 man and the ladies matches were also good.

IWA-MS used to be my #1 go-to promotion... but I really deternined that is not the case at all anymore. Even shows of theirs I wanted to see a few months ago, I could really do without. I may get the last two Strong Style tourneys and We're No Joke... but I dunno, I'd rather spend my non-ROH money on Chikara and maybe PWG now.

I recieved in the mail today

IWA:MS-
Extreme Heaven 2007
Summer Scorcher
Payback Pain and Agony 2007
and
Hurt 2007

Now for a review
Chikara "Maximum Overdraft"
Standout matches are easily FIST vs. Briscoes, followed by Ricochet vs. Kingston and probably Quack vs. Black Tiger. I didnt watch all of the show, but those would probably be the three top ones. Briscoes/FIST was easily the show stealer though.

I never really post what I receive, but today was good.

Arik Cannon's new shirt, in black.

ROH: In Your Face, Ring of Homicide, Fifth Year Festival for NYC, Dayton, and the Finale, Supercard of Honor II, and Good Tomes Great Memories.

I guess for a review, I finished Volumes 3 and 4 of the Best of the MCMG... not bad, as it has stuff I would never have seen eithout it, like UWA and Zero-1 matches. I;m big on Sabin/Shelley, and I need to get Volume 5 and the 6-7 he is coming out with soon.

i just watched the McMahon DVD the other day.

good story, seems a little too 'tooting your own horn'-ish for me. the incest thing was creepy as fuck. i haven't watched the matches, but there is a little 'behind the scenes' type stuff that's always gold.

thumbs the f up!

Downloaded RF Video's In the Ring With Steve Corino.
Really good stuff, insightful into the Japanese wrestling world. Not alot of actual 'in the ring' stuff, but good nonetheless.

IWA:MS Hurt 2007
Low Ki vs. Roderick Strong was the main event for good reason.. pretty much what you would expect from these two. Drake/CJ finishers match was also decent. Ian/Mickie vs. North Star Express was more of a comedy match, especially post match. While I didnt watch the first match, I know everything after that was at minimum, watchable. Recommended, especially, if your stuck in a spot not knowing what to pick to finish off your sale purchase.

I honestly do not remember why I ordered it, but either way it was a pretty good show. My top shows would be Low Ki/Drake and Chuck Taylor vs. Davey Richards and Jimmy Jacobs vs. Cabana. It wasnt a must see show, but its got enough highs to buy if youve seen all the good shows.

It's been about a week since I watched it, so it's not as fresh..

But I got back into my OVW dvds. I watched December of 2005, which kinda sucked because there were two Best of 2005 episodes... but other than those, gold. Punk, Doane, and Albright are in the main events, Estrada just debuted, and Aaron Stevens is taking over.

I got a gang of figures lately... Classics for Ron Bass, Tully Blanchard and the Tully/Arn two pack. I also picked up Cor Von and Striker's ECW Series 3, as well as all of the Spirit Squad members loose, who are now guarding my tapes. I need to take pics of my shit...

I just watched a Larry Sweeney comp, highlights being the strap match vs Kingston, his Chikara promos, a good Cabana match from FIP.. although I was disappointed in the match vs Blue Meanie from IWA-MS. Not that I thought it would be great, but it wasn't even entertaining to me. Ah well. Also a highlight is the cover that I made for it, but I don't have my printer, so it has to wait. Boo!

I just got 3 awesome Chikara tshirts -- the red/yellow 2007 Roster shirt, Los Ice Creams, and Mitch Ryder. I'm such a shirt mark... even though I work 5 days a week, and sit in my underwear for the other two, so I never actually go out to show off my cool duds.

Bad Blood - Chris Hero vs Eddie Kingston.

Which is basically every match they have both ever been a part of. That will make me happy.

ROH: Weekend of Champions

Night One-
-Good opening match with Cabana vs Jacobs, as Colt makes his way back up the ladder.
-Irish Airborne beats Spud and Jay Fury. Blah
-Rave vs Delirious is decent.
-Nigel vs Daniels is good, but I don't like Daniels at this point. Funny ending though, as most Nigel Pure defenses are.
-Yang vs Danielson is ok, but not AD's best defense.
-Joe/Sydal vs Aries/Strong is good, but christ, how many partners can Sydal get for title shots at his stable mates? Maybe after he lost the first few times, he would have given up.
-And we end with a CZW/ROH brawl, which really just turns into BJ getting his ass handed to him, leading to the rest of the feud where he's Superman.

Night 2-
-Another decent opener with Colt teaming with CK3 vs Irish Airborne. As expected, only Cabana parts are really watchable
-Delirious vs Chris Sabin is good, although I was at this show and I totally didn't even rememebr this match.
-Six man mayhem which is dominated by Yang and Jacobs.
-Daniels vs Sydal is good but again, I am not a Fallen Angel fan.
-Whitmer vs Super Dragon is pretty good. I really do like BJ Whitmer. He was awesome in 2002 era IWA-MS, and he always had potential in ROH, but it was never tapped into... it certainly isn't being used well in 2007.
-And then we get.... what should be three AWESOME matches on paper, but they all seem to fall a little flat on tape - Joe vs Claudio, Aries/Strong vs Shelley/Rave, and Danielson/Nigel title for title. The last one was awesome live because we allthough Nigel won both belts, but it doesn't translate that well on tape. Plus, I would assume all of their other matches kill this one.

Overall, two decent shows, but not Must See's

And while I am at it... The Condemned is sweet, and the Marine blows.

As you can see by browsing PT.com, I suck at graphics... but yeah, I've been making my own covers. They started off really bad and basic, but I think my Sweeney one is ok, my MCMG one is cool basically because I found a good picture to use, and the Hero/Kingston one I just jacked the Menu Art, tweaked it, and used that... it's just so I can put them into cases and not have them in binders.

And continuing with my day off from work:

ROH - How We Roll
`Decent opener of Yang vs Sydal
`Comedic three way of Nigel, Delirious and Kikutaro
`Interesting heel vs heel match from Shelley/Rave vs Homicide/Reyes. Nice tease of Smokes vs Nana, but there is just too much bullshit outside the ring to let this match flow at all.
`Hero/Claudio vs Pearce/Whitmer furthers the CZW angle, and really just shows off how well the KOW work together.
`Joe squashes some loser.
`Roddy Strong vs Mark Briscoe is average, but Aries vs Jay is much better.... Briscoes pick up both wins, and then lose on the next show I am assuming.
`Christian/Cabana vs Daniels/Danielson isn't anything to write home about. It's cool to see Christian here, but he really doesn't do anything.

Overall, a good show. The crowd is horribly annoying... and it doesn't help that the audio on the commentary is bad, so you can't even hear Prazak half the time and it sounds like you are sitting right next to Green Lantern Fan... which makes me want to kill myself.

ROH: Ring of Homicide

`Hilarious opener with Cabana and Kikutaro
`Rottweillers spoil the RSE's once every six month return with a beating
`Yang and Rave have a good match, even though it's like, the third or fourth one I've seen recently
`Nigel and the returning Jay Lethal have a decent match, although I fell asleep and had to rewatch it. I could have done without the ending though.
`Delirious challenges Danielson for the title in a very good match. I think there was a little lull here with ADs matches, but the last few picked up nicely.
`Speaking of seeing the same match again... Sydal and Daniels. Christ. At least it was short.
`Aries/Strong vs the Briscoes started super slow, but it picked up nicely.
`Joe vs Necro Buther turned into a 6 man brawl which turned into Homicide vs Necro. They do the Stuuupid fucking "everyone throw their chairs into the ring" spot. God do I hate that. But this ushers in the "semi-face" Homicide era, so we shall ride that for a few shows.

Overall, not a bad show, but not a great show. The opener, tag title and world title matches are key to see.

ROH: Destiny

`Decent opener with Rave vs a debuting Davey Richards
`Top of the Class trophy match withthe skinny Dempsy and Hagadorn. Meh
`Sara Del Ray and Daizee in a pretty good match
`Enjoyable 4 way with Delirious, Pearce, Jason Blade and Cabana for a world title shot, which is odd that any of the 4 would get a shot at this particular time.
`Chris Daniels and BJ Whitmer have a good match
`Shingo vs Ricky Reyes, I fell asleep and didn't go back to rewatch it like I usually do when I catch a nap.

So far, the show is kinda horrible. I am hoping the double main makes up for it.

`Danielson and Homicide renew their feud. Not their greatest match, as I am not a fan of half the match being a brawl on the outside, seeing who can flip harder into the guard rails when irish whipped in. The ending is also slightly lame, even though I like the MMA Elbows as a finisher.... and it does set up for Homicide's full face turn in a few shows.
`Aries/Strong vs the Briscoes is better than their match at the last show. We get a little more clasic Briscoe double teaming, and a nice ending.

Overall, I hate to say a show is bad, but I could do without this as a whole.

I haven't really watched much of Shimmer, where her best stuff over the past year or two have been.... but I think she's easily, and I mean easily top 3 women workers in the US, if not #1 with a bullet. People could argue Amazing Kong or Cheerleader Melissa or Mercedes Martinez... maybe even MsChif or The Haze lately... but I'd go with SDR, from what I know.

CZW was putting on some good looking shows there for a minute, until they decided to dump Kingston and Hero at the same time... now they appears to be the proverbial shits.

I'm a mark, but you can't go wrong with ROH shows. Final Battle in NY looks insane already, but that may be too far for you... they have a Jersey show in January as well and Philly in March

Death Before Dishonor V [Night 1]

-Davey Richards vs. Jack Evans set a good mood, decent match although nothing spectacular, the end run in was really well timed setting the tone for the stable wars.
-Skipped over the ladies' match.
-Chris Hero vs. Nigel McGuinness.. nothing special stands out, but I know it wasnt bad.
-Six man didnt do too much but showcase Jig and Delirious.
-Aries/Stevens vs. Strong/Romero.. again, I dont remember it to be anything too special, but it wasnt bad I assure you.
-Danielson vs. Sydal, more of the same except Sydal got stretched a little.
-Morishima vs. Claudio was pretty good for a Morishima match. Maybe I dont give him enough credit but it really was a quality match. The crowd was really into it which always helps
-Briscoes vs. Steen/Generico was amazing. I heard someone in the crowd say "I paid $40 for this?!" while they were in the crowd and I understood. When theyre in the crowd, for the most part, its a mess, but the rest of the match was great. ROH doesnt do stree tfights often but when they do its big and this one was.

Good show, but a little bland in the middle. The crowd was really into it all night which helped.
